Reason for using: Anxiety.Side Effects: minor drowsiness inside perhaps 15-20 minutes after taking then it proceeds away and I seem fine.I'm 29 and have had a prescription for Ativan/Lorazepam (generic) for about 4 years now. My script is for only .5 mg. I take it only as required, when I understand I'm going into a position that is going to make me anxious...maybe one time a week. I like how Ativan works for me, in about an hour after I take it the nervous/anxiety I get is gone and I seem like my usual self and not neurotic! I had endeavoured a reduced dose of Xanax one time which I really somewhat favour more but I believe its because of the minor high you get with it. I don't have an addictive character but I had an added increase of self-assurance with the Xanax...probably the "high" effect. My new Dr. wouldn't prescribe me Xanax though. She even acquainted me at my visit today how addictive Ativan is because of the Valium family it arrives from. She would only give me 30 tablets and no refills and she anticipates this to last me 6 months. I estimate I'm pleased she's proactive and watchful of what she prescribes.
